Joanne M. Denison J.D., B.S.M.E.
JoAnne M. Denison is a patent attorney who has specialized in the area of patent, trademark and copyright law for the past 20+ years. She was graduated from the University of Illinois in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Thermo-Mechanical Engineering and received her law degree from Indiana University in 1985. During this time she has been associated with the law firms of Cook, Wetzel and Egan; Burditt and Radzius; and, Michael, Best and Friedrich where she was a partner.
Her trademark work includes foreign and domestic prosecution of patents and trademarks, including cancellations and oppositions and appeals before the TTAB and CAFC, and oral arguments and preparation before these courts. Trademark and patent transactional work included extensive foreign and domestic licensing and joint ventures Her patent areas include the fields of basic mechanical, biotech, software and electronics inventions both U.S. and foreign.
She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association. Her activities at the Chicago Bar Association include serving as Chair of the Patents Subcommittee for the years 1987-90, Vice-Chair of the Patent, Trademark and Copyright Committee for the years 1990-91 and Chair of this same committee for the years 1991-92. She also served as legislative liaison for the CBA Women in the Law Committee for 1994-95. Her activities at the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago include serving on the Domestic/Foreign Trademark Committee and the Dinner Committee. And, she was for many years on the Chicago Bar Association Special Referral Panel as a recommended Patent, Trademark and Copyright lawyer.
She is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois, the State of North Carolina (inactive), the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Patent Office (Atty. Reg. No. 34,150).
Ms. Denison is married and has four children, Sean 20, Brendan 19, Matthew 13 and Melissa 13.
Frank R. O'Hare, J.D., B.S.CIV.E
Frank R. O'Hare is admitted to both the Illinois State Bar and the U.S. Patent Bar. He has worked as a law clerk for Cook County State's Attorney's office, Juvenile Division in Chicago Illinois in 2006 and before that was a civil engineer for the Tech 3 conculting groip in Crete, Illinois dealing with water control system, including watershed data, computerized modeling and fluid dynamics. My. O'Hare was graduated from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois in May 2008, with a Certificate in Intellectual Property: Patent Law and was also a Dean;s Schoolar. He was graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana Chapaign, Illinois in May of 2006 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering and Project Management. He was granted early admission as a James Scholar.
Randal S. Alexander, J.D., B.S.
Randal S. Alexander is admitted to parectice in Illinois and was graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas in May of 2002 with a B.S. in Biology where he was a Merkle Pre-Law Scholar and Redwing Criminal Justic Scholar. He was graduated from teh John Marshall Law School in June of 2006 where he served as Editor in Chief of the John Marshall Review of Intellectual Property. He was a legal intern for Bohmann & Loosen in Germany in Summer of 2004 where he drafted legal Arguments. He is currently studying for the U.S. Patent Bar
Jonathan B. David - Patent Agent - J.D., B.S., M.S.
Jonathan B. David is a patent agent registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He was graduated from Northeastern University School of Law in 2008 where he received his J.D. and took courses in Patent Law, Intellectual Property Law, Software and Internet Law. He was graduated from the University of Illinois in Chicago in 2003 with a M.S. in Physics and was graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1998 with a B.S. in Physics. He has worked for the law firms of Leason & Ellis, White Plains, NY, the Law Office of Martin Jerisat in Chicago, Illinois, Harrington & Smith in Shelton, Connecticut and the Electronic Privacy Information Center in Washington, DC. He will be sitting for the Illinois State Bar Exam in February of 2010.
